Pima County Interfaith Civic Education Organization
... Is the active new affiliate assisting PCIC in community education, issues research, and public skills development. The mission of PCICEO is the education and training of active citizens capable of engaging successfully in public life. There are four areas of focus:
• Teaching the skills of public life at the grassroots level.
• Establishing community based service initiatives.
• Evaluating the impacts of community based initiatives.
• Researching state policy and budget impacts on Tucson and surrounding communities.
• Working relationally for systemic change.
As a registered 501(c)3 organization, PCICEO carries out a diverse body of work reflective of these mission objectives. The work of PCICEO includes citizen training events around Metro Tucson, evaluation of living wage and job training initiatives; seminars with nationally recognized experts in education, healthcare and economic development; coordination of Industrial Areas National Training and regional trainings in Southern Arizona; and more.
PCICEO works closely with other community-based organizations including Southern Arizona Interfaith, representing Southern Pima County, Cochise and Santa Cruz Counties, and the other members of the Arizona Interfaith Network.
PCICEO also works closely with labor unions, congregations, social service agencies and educational groups throughout Arizona.
