Nov. 4: Tonight roughly 15 parents, students and teachers attended an introductory PCICEO Education Civic Academy at Amphi Middle School. Several volunteered to help present an academy to a larger group in January. Martha Pankratz and Ron Nason from St. Francis in the Foothills UMC participated.
Oct. 21: Last week PCICEO leaders and organizers met with a dozen leaders of the Keeling Elementary PTO and later with another dozen at the Keeling Neighborhood Association. Judy Keagy and members of Casas Adobes Congregational UCC have an extensive volunteer program at Keeling. A larger Education Civic Academy is being planned.
These sessions are a by-product of PCICEO’s expanding cooperation with the Amphitheatre School District due to the invitation of Superintendent Patrick Nelson. Last year PCICEO worked to help pass the successful Amphitheatre Budget Override. PCICEO congregations have been volunteering in some Amphi schools for over a decade.
