“How long shall the wicked, O Lord,
how long shall the wicked triumph?
They bluster in their insolence,
all evildoers are full of boasting.”
- Psalm 94
(Excerpt as sung by the choir )
According to Rev’d Leah, new draft proposed regulations would impact “public charge” determinations by penalizing legal immigrants and their children if they receive food stamps (SNAP), health care subsidies, or even Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC). Next steps included continuing to resist anti-immigrant policies, promoting voting cascades, and attending the PCIC Accountability Session on September 30, at 3:00 pm at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Candidates for Congress and the State Legislature will be asked about their positions on immigration, health care, education, food security, and other issues.
