A mixed multitude of 55 new and experienced leaders from over 20 institutions met at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church on January 17 to conduct leadership training and approve the 2016 PCICEO’s draft budget and strategic calendar. Items on the calendar include a major fundraiser on April 10 and a General Election Accountability Session on Education and Poverty on October 2.

and possibly Prison Reform/Reentry. This later issue will be discussed further at the next Strategy Session on February 11.
New leaders Hope Beck Goldsmith from St. Philip’s, Art Ragland and Margaret Synhorst from St. Mark’s UMC, and Elaine Jones from Congregation Or Chadash led the meeting; which included a presentation on the broad-based model of institutional organizing, relational meetings, and house meetings.
Participants included leaders from several new institutions: Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic, Sacred Space, Congregation Or Chadash, St. Matthew’s Episcopal, Northwest Community Church, Mountain Vista Unitarian Universalist, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
A team of leaders will go to the Legislature on Jan. 20 for meetings with Republican and Democrat Senators and Representatives.
Other upcoming meetings include one with US Rep. Martha McSally on January 22, in Benson, and with Mayor Jonathan Rothschild on February 1. View/download full calendar of events HERE.
